The Rugby World Cup is back! One of the biggest sporting events of the year has got underway as France stunned New Zealand to claim a famous victory on the opening night in Paris.

Ireland will be among the contenders, along with usual suspects South Africa, while Australia must improve if they want to challenge for the William Webb Ellis trophy.

England, who lifted the title in dramatic fashion in 2003, have endured a troubled buildup to the tournament as they look to go one further than their performance four years ago where they reached the final.

Selection dilemmas, warm-up game defeats - including a humbling by Fiji - and suspensions have seen the Red Rose come into the competition down on confidence. Can they turn it around and go deep into the tournament?

To help build up your excitement, if you need to, test your knowledge of the tournament with our Rugby World Cup quiz.

We are looking for you to name all of the England lineups for their opening game at every edition of the Rugby World Cup from 1987 right through to 2023.

Good luck, and don’t forget to tweet us your scores @TheFlankerRugby or comment with them on Facebook @theflankerrugby
